It's a very good gift for mid age ladies. Very famous and no need to justify it's reliability. No batteries required. It works on Mechanical Energy trasmitted by body movement. The only negative observation I could say, is that you have to make some effort in aligning the bracelet lock to lock it, but I don't see it as a problem.
Two things you should pay attention to when you wanna buy this watch, first the warranty. If I'm not mistaken, there are two types of warranty depending on the manufacturer location. You have an American watch and an International one. The international one will not be provided with a booklet or company's ID card. Make sure your watch has the booklet and the Card, because you are gonna pay the same price anyway. You have to contact the seller before placing your order to confirm this. The other issue, which is very important, is shipping the product. The watch simply comes in a manufacturer plastic box, which is placed carefully inside the seller's shipping box. However, all of Seiko watches are held loose inside the manufacturer box. So, when it's shipped, it will bouncing all over the plastic box and get scrached everywhere. Tell the seller to prevent this from happening before its' shipped!
I bought two watches from two different sellers, and both of them had the same problem. They were bouncing inside the manufacturer plastic box, which resulted in little scratches.
